The Chamber Previews The One Beverly Hills Aman Project
The Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce team, led by President Todd Johnson and Senior Vice President Blair Schlecter, was recently provided a rare and compelling opportunity to tour the build site of the highly anticipated The One Beverly Hills & Aman. Rising at the iconic intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and Santa Monica Boulevard, the project is poised to redefine luxury living, hospitality, and retail at the very heart of Beverly Hills.
Set on 17.5 acres at the western gateway of the city, The One Beverly Hills will bring together the Aman Beverly Hills hotel, two Aman-branded residential towers, Aman Club, curated luxury retail and dining, wellness spaces, 10 acres of botanical gardens and open space, along with the thoughtful renovation of The Beverly Hilton. The scale and integration of these elements signal a transformative addition to the city’s new landmark.
The experience began with an introduction to the development leadership at CAIN Development, including Senior Managing Director & Head of Development Larry Green and Vice President of Development Scott Priester. The tour commenced at CAIN’s Century City office, a refined skyrise suite that serves as the operational nucleus of the project, where strategy and architecture converge.
At the center of the presentation was a remarkable three-dimensional architectural model of the entire development, envisioned by world-renowned architect Norman Foster. Crafted with precision, the model offered a bird’s-eye perspective of the master plan. This physical representation, paired with immersive digital renderings and a cinematic video presentation, brought the project to life in a way that transcended conventional planning review.
The presentation highlighted Aman’s signature approach seamlessly integrated into a Beverly Hills urban context. Residences, hotel accommodations, curated retail, and elevated amenities are all designed to coexist within a fully realized ecosystem of luxury.
An intriguing detail shared during the session underscored the sheer scale: the volume of earth excavated to date could fill wheelbarrows stretching from Beverly Hills to London. It is a vivid illustration of the magnitude of transformation currently underway.
The second phase of the tour transitioned from conceptual to physical. Crossing the boulevard, the group arrived at the southwestern cornerstone of the site. What now appears as a vast, open excavation is the foundation of a future landmark. Towering retaining walls, dense frameworks of rebar, and the early formation of structural cores reveal the complexity of engineering at work. Multiple cranes move in coordinated rhythm as the build continues.
The tour culminated at the illustrious “The New” Merv Griffin Way, a famous stretch of road connecting a section of Wilshire and Santa Monica Blvd, offering a compelling vantage point. This corridor, currently in transition, will evolve into a multi-level integrated thoroughfare framed by lush gardens and walkable design.
