Pharmaca, which was founded in 2000 in Boulder, Colorado, is the country’s first and largest integrative pharmacy chain. The store has an extraordinary selection of natural health and beauty products, including skin care, hair care, body care and cosmetics (well-known brands include Dr. Hauschka, Juice Beauty, jane iredale and Andalou Naturals). The store also offers traditional and compounded prescriptions; vitamins and supplements; gift items, including gourmet chocolates; complimentary mini-facials and makeup applications; and a wide array of complementary health solutions.
The Beverly Hills store—Pharmaca’s 30th location—opened October 7, 2017 at the site of the former Roxbury Pharmacy at 9101 Olympic Boulevard (on the corner of Doheny Drive). Greta Goldshtein, the former pharmacist/owner of Roxbury Pharmacy, has stayed on as a pharmacist with Pharmaca.
During the week of February 5-11, customers may donate new or gently used baby items, including clothing, blankets and toys, which will be given to the charity Baby2Baby. This Los Angeles-based non-profit organization provides low-income children, from birth to age 12, with diapers, clothing and all of the basic necessities that every child deserves. Baby2Baby distributes these items to other non-profit partner organizations, including children’s hospitals, foster care programs, homeless shelters and Head Start programs. Baby2Baby will serve more than 180,000 children in Los Angeles this year and tens of thousands of children across the country through the Baby2Baby National Network, currently in 20 cities. “Pharmaca has enjoyed a phenomenal partnership with Baby2Baby over the past three-plus years. This partnership has included both donations of gently used baby and children’s items, and donations of over $18,000 of new products at the Pacific Palisades store as well. I am proud of our partnership, and I am proud of the Pharmaca employees who encourage customers to donate each day,” notes Michael Banks, Pharmaca’s Southern California Retail Market Manager.
Banks adds that Pharmaca encourages the three Los Angeles-area retail stores to continually leave out donation bins for Baby2Baby so that residents can drop off items any time they’re in the store. He adds, “I am gratified by the generosity of our customers, which reflects the dedication of residents in the community, and I am proud that our bins are always full.”
Pharmaca regularly offers monthly special events/demonstrations, with vendor representatives, in all stores. Quarterly Feel Better Rewards, based on store purchases, provide shoppers with money to spend in the store.
